IPL 2018 Eliminator 1 Playoffs 23 May: KKR Vs RR Match Prediction, Playing 11, News, Pre-Match Analysis and

The Eliminator of IPL 2018 is here, now the turn of Kolkata Knights Vs Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 23th May. Who will see the door and who will move to Qualifier 1 to face Sunrisers Hyderabad for a spot in the final against CSK. All that alongside predicted playing XI, team news, pre-match analysis, team news and match predictions.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Playing an eliminator at the Eden Gardens would have been KKR’s dream and they have finally got it and will face RR. KKR has been on the rise since their sudden blip mid-tournament, and will look to carry forward the momentum. The pitch and the toss will be a deciding factor as RR isn’t known to be a team to chase down big totals, and given KKR negates Sodhi and Shreyas Gopal and post anything around 160-170 it will get hard for RR even with the dew settling in.

rr-vs-kkr-match-prediction-23-may

Betting Line-up

Uthappa has got into the act at last but there needs to be more from him. Dinesh Karthik is playing those unnoticeable, yet vital knocks and Chris Lynn has finally grown into the Indian conditions. Narine would be a trump card. Shubhman Gill has been off the boil a bit but Andre Dwayne Russell has settled into his rhythm yet again.

Bowling Line-up

The bowling needs to fire, and they have been really good in the death overs especially Prasidh Krishna who scalped 4 wickets against RR a week ago. Piyush Chawla has been economical, but Kuldeep Yadav is spinning a web around the batters and it is a pretty sight. Javon Searles may not feature in this match and KKR may go with veteran Johnson for this.

Key Players to watch

The key will be Narine and Lynn at the start and DK and Russ at the end. The bowling department will be headed by Narine and Kuldeep Yadav. The 4 overs from Krishna will also be decisive.

Predicted Playing XI

Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Shubhman Gill, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Mitchell Johnson

Rajasthan Royals

RR has ridden their luck on to their way to the playoffs, and Buttler’s heroics followed with Gopal and Sodhi show against RCB has exposed one dreadful fact that they rely on individual brilliance. Against a resurgent KKR side in front of a roaring Kolkata crowd, RR will have their task cut out from ball one. Ajinkya Rahane is getting into the captaincy groove, but needs to win the toss and post a big score, else chasing would be a tough ask. The inclusion of Klassen would be a turning point with the South African scoring a quickfire 32 and was excellent behind the stumps.

rr-vs-kkr-match-prediction-23-may-qualifier

Betting Line-up

Jinx and Tripathi will hold the key, but RR could use Gowtham at the top instead of Archer as he is a trusted deputy and has been in excellent form with the bat. Sanju Samson has been peripheral since mid-May and needs to get into the thick of things because it gets too late.

Bowling Line-up

Shreyas Gopal and Ish Sodhi will relish bowling on the Eden Gardens wicket, and both will carry their team and decide the game in their 8 overs. Unadkat has been disappointing, but Jinx and Warne’s faith in him may come back to haunt them. Kulkarni is an option on the bench as well. Archer has been leaking runs and has shown his inexperience.

Key Players to watch

The key player would be Klassen and Tripathi with the bat. However, their strength lies with Sodhi and Shreyas Gopal.

Predicted Playing XI

Heinrich Klassen, Rahul Tripathi, Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Stuart Binny, Krishnappa Gowtham, Anureet Singh, Ish Sodhi, Jofra Archer, Dhawal Kulkarni/Jaydev Unadkat, Ben Laughlin

Match Prediction: Who Will Win KKR Vs RR 23 May Match?

The game will be decided on the toss winner, but given the home conditions and RR’s reliance on individual brilliance will give KKR a significant edge. According to our match analysis, KKR is favorites to win this match because first,  Kolkata will be having their home advantage at Eden Gardens. Second, KKR has also won their last two matches against RR this season at Eden Gardens including a big six-wicket win. Another factor behind KKR’s more chance of winning this eliminator match is, Rajasthan Royals will be playing without scoring batter Jos Butler and all-rounder Ben Stokes as they’ve been called by England for the test match against Pakistan. We think this will impact the Royals game a lot.

Update: The IPL final pre-match analysis and prediction is live. Check on Who Will Win IPL 2018 CSK vs SRH here.

The VIVO IPL 2018 has reached the playoffs and one month of cricketing action has just gone by without anyone scarcely believing. Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the men from South of India to fight it out to reach the finals while resurgent Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are to fight their way to qualifier 2. CSK and SRH will lock horns at the Wankhede, and let us get our betting game right.
We’ve put the chances of winning after the team analysis, it will keep on increasing as match ending. We’ll keep updating this article daily.

IPL Points Table 2018

IPL 2018 Points Table
IPL Points Table 2018. Updated: 22nd May Before Qualifier 1 Match.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK is yet again in another semi-final, and they are one of the best teams in the history of IPL. After defeating KXIP in their last match and in the process knocked them out of the tournament, CSK level with SRH on 18 points on the IPL Points Table, but the SRH has a better NRR (Net Run Rate). Nevertheless, both the team will face each other the first Qualifier to be played at the Wankhede on 22nd May, giving a second bite at the cherry, but undoubtedly CSK and SRH will look to win the match and seal the final spot without any jitters.

Chances of winning: 35%

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The best-balanced team of IPL 2018 so far. We know this is a huge call, but they have shown maximum results without having the biggest T20 stars. Kane Williamson has been a phenomenon in both the bat and his leadership abilities. He has formed an impregnable bowling attack that does not rely on Bhuvaneshwar or Rashid alone, but the team. They are the best bowling side, and their ability to chase huge targets are praiseworthy. They are within touching distance and could win their 2nd title of IPL tournament. However, their bowling attack has recently been taken to the cleaners with Siddharth Kaul leaking too many runs, and SRH’s wicket-taking bowlers are finding it difficult to penetrate. Against a strong CSK batting line-up, SRH will be looking to restrict them and chase on a slow yet batting friendly Wankhede. SRH lost to CSK by 9 wickets in the last match, so that will also play on their minds before the toss.

Chances of winning: 35%

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR will seal their playoff spot if they defeat SRH, but there is a huge if and given they lose their last match, and RCB or MI win theirs, KKR will then sit anxiously and wait for the NRR to rule in their favor. KKR won comprehensively against SRH and made sure they did not have to rely on NRR to qualify. KKR bowlers are again at it as they are grouping together and chipping in with wickets regularly. Prasidh Krishna is looking to be their answer to death over woes, and Chris Lynn is finally showing why he is considered as one of the best T20 batters around the World. They will face a resurgent RR side at the Eden Gardens where spin will be a decisive option as both sets have quality spinners up their ranks.

Chances of winning: 15%

Rajasthan Royals

With Steve Smith out because of the SandPaper Gate, Rahane was thrust upon with the duties, and he has been unpredictable since then. His batting has taken a blow, and few of his decisions are baffling as well. Rajasthan Royals surprised everybody after defeating RCB and will now take on KKR who have been on the up, but there are a few jitters among the KKR fans as well. It will be an even contest and the form of Ish Sodhi and Shreyas Gopal will play an immense factor at the Eden Gardens, and Rahane has finally proved his leadership qualities, and much will depend on his usage of bowlers.

Chances: 15%

[19 May IPL 2018]RR Vs RCB Match Prediction, Pre-Match Analysis, Playing 11 and Betting Tips.

[19 May IPL 2018]RR Vs RCB Match Prediction, Pre-Match Analysis, Playing 11 and Betting Tips.

The 53rd match of Vivo IPL 2018 is not only an enthralling encounter but also a mathematical juggernaut. RR and RCB both sit on 12 points at the IPL 2018 points table, but RCB has an upper hand due to superior NRR (Net Run Rate). This one is going to be an absolute nail biter given both the teams having their hopes hanging by the thread. Starting Playing XIs, team news, key players, pre-match analysis, and predictions will be all up.

Rajasthan Royals

RR looked to have bounced back from their mid season setback with Buttler paving the way with an astonishing 5 consecutive half centuries, but against KKR their hopes seem to have been dissipated. They are not knocked out of the Vivo IPL 2018 officially, and mathematically they do have a chance of making it to the qualifiers, but they will need to win this tie, and hope MI and KXIP both lose their matches or at least a win for any of them should not knock them out on the basis of NRR. The maths is complicated, and all they can do is play their best cricket and hope for the results to fall their way. However, their biggest setback would be Buttler being recalled into the England side, and that would mean Rajasthan Royals will need to do it without him at the helm of things. Stokes will also fly out of India, and that would mean RR pinning their hopes on D Arcy Short, who has had a forgettable IPL in 2018.

rcb-vs-rajasthan-match-prediction

Batting Line-up

Ajinkya Rahane is a class act, but he is certainly deprived of confidence and has been all over the place with his batting. His dismissal against KKR shows why team India does not bank on him as a competent ODI or T20 player. A dismal looking reverse sweep with his head falling on the leg side, that’s not the Jinx we know of. However, RR will bank on him to make it big and seal an improbable Playoff spot. Sanju Samson has been decent but hasn’t played those match-winning knocks. We may finally see Heinrich Klassen get a chance and open the batting.

Bowling Line-up

It is time for RR to look beyond Jaydev Unadkat who hasn’t reciprocated to the monstrous amount of money that RR paid to avail his services. Archer has been terrific and Krishnappa Gowtham is an exciting bowler as well. Anureet Singh isn’t your wicket-taking option. Ish Sodhi has been fantastic and RR will rue not giving him chances before the mid half of the season.

Key Players

The key players would be Ajinkya Rahane and Samson with the bat, and Ish Sodhi with the ball.

Playing XI

Heinrich Klassen, Rahul Tripathi, Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, D Arcy Short, Stuart Binny, Krishnappa Gowtham, Anureet Singh, Ish Sodhi, Jofra Archer, Dhawal Kulkarni

Royal Challengers Bangalore

It has been an amazing turnaround by the men from Bangalore. What looked like another dismal campaign can well see them reach the playoffs of IPL 2018 and be a strong contender for the title. They have superior NRR with only MI the only side with a positive NRR and eyeing for a spot. RCB defeated SRH as we predicted in a high scoring thriller, but the slow rank turner of Sawai Man Singh, Jaipur would mean RCB will need to grind it out.

Bowling Line-up

Their bowling has always been questioned, but it looks like Siraj is getting along with his duties as a death over specialist. Umesh has been excellent, and so has been Southee at the death. Chahal is Kohli’s go-to man when he is in need of wickets, and will count on him to spin a web around RR batsmen.

Batting Line-up

ABD is from another planet and he proved it with a 69 from 39 balls and an out of the planet catch that will be remembered for ages. Moeen Ali is finally getting into his element and will be a key player as well. Kohli missed out against SRH but will be eyeing to stamp his authority. Mighty impressed with Colin De Grandhomme’s ability as a finisher.

abd-rcb-rr-match-ipl-2018

Key Players

In a team full of superstars, choosing a key player/s is hard, but for us, it will be Virat, ABD, Moeen, and Chahal.

Playing XI

Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Moeen Ali, Mandeep Singh, Colin De Grandhomme, Sarfaraz Khan, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj

KKR Vs RR Match Prediction, Preview, Playing 11 and Betting tips. Who Will Win today’s match?

The 49th fixture of IPL 2018 will be between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals on 15th May at Eden Garden, Kolkata. Both the teams are fighting neck to neck for a place in the playoffs. Both are sitting on 12 points IPL points table with KKR ahead by net run rate. A win for either of the teams will push them to a top three spot. Rajasthan will surely look to spoil homecoming party for the hosts. KKR also cannot afford a slip at this stage and will require all their wits to beat a dominating RR side.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Knights of Kolkata step into their home ground on the back of an impressive win against KXIP. In a match who saw the batsmen have a ball, the same could not be said for the bowlers. KKR have experienced a tumultuous IPL in 2018. Their winning streak came to a halt against a Mumbai side which left KKR biting the dust. But one thing they have shown this season is the ability to fight back. It was evident in the last match against KXIP, as KKR took the match on the back of some heavy batting.

rr-vs-kkr-match-prediction

Sunil Narine has officially turned from a bowler to a batsman. The spinner wreaked havoc on the KXIP bowling with 75 from 36 balls. After he went down, Captain Dinesh Karthik continued his impressive season with a 50 off 23 balls. Andre Russell decided to join in on the fun too as he smashed 31 runs. If the top order continues to bat like the last match, RR will have a very tough night ahead of them. With the inclusion of youngsters Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill, KKR enjoys a prolific batting lineup.

Bowling line-up

At this stage of the tournament, any mistake can prove very costly. KKR need to polish up their bowling concerns. KXIP very nearly took the match away from them. We have seen bowling worries in the previous matches also. A young Prasidh Krishna put forth an impressive bowling cameo and scalped two wickets. The selectors will surely keep him in mind with Shivam Mavi still struggling from a finger injury. Narine and Russell will have to help restrict RR and Piyush Chawla needs to stay focused.

This will be a tight game for the hosts and the visitors. KKR can hope to score big and really hope Buttler is having an off day.

Predicted Playing XI

Dinesh Karthik, Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Javon Searless, Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Piyush Chawla.

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals are transforming into a serious threat for the rest of the teams. The team has seemingly bounced back from the dead and is a contender for the playoffs. They face Kolkata with the objective of a top three spot. With a hat-trick of remarkable wins, RR has a good chance of upsetting KKR on their home ground.

kkr-vs-rajasthan-match-prediction

The major factor for the wins is one Jos Buttler. The English man has almost single-handedly scored half of the runs for the team. Three consecutive 80+ scores in last three matches have helped RR become a valid threat. While Buttler is on a roll, the rest of the batting lineup has to step up. Both Rahane and Sanju Samson have faltered a bit. Stokes is also having a rough time with the bat. The team needs to support Buttler and chip in with runs to help win against KKR.

Bowling Line-up

Rajasthan much like KKR needs to work on their bowling. Jofra Archer continues to impress and perform admirably with each match. Ben Stokes also comes in handy with a ball. Dhawal Kulkarni and Jaydev Unadkat need to throw in their best spells to stop a rampaging KKR lineup.

The form Buttler is in, he can take on any team. But the rest of the squad needs to support and chip in with runs and wickets at intervals.

Predicted Playing XI

Ajinkya Rahane, D’Arcy Short, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Stuart Binny, Jofra Archer, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shreyas Gopal.

13 May, IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals Prediction, Preview, Betting Tips & Playing 11

13 May, IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals Prediction, Preview, Betting Tips & Playing 11

Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals are set to meet at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai in Match 47 of IPL 2018 in a mid-table clash that can see either team knocked out of the tournament pertaining to results in other matches. Follow us as we discuss the two teams, their strengths, and weaknesses, playing 11, key players, betting tips, match prediction and what we can expect from this all-important clash.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are back in the thick of things with back to back wins against the Kolkata Knight Riders. All their big name players are finally proving their worth. With 5 wins in 11 games, they stand at the same spot with KKR and RR. Considering KXIP’s recent run, however, it seems that only one of these 3 teams can make it to the top 4. Mumbai Indians have the much-needed momentum behind them and they are extremely experienced when it comes to such do-or-die matches in the business end of the group stages. MI definitely have the best side on paper and finally, they are looking to express themselves on the playing pitch.

mi-vs-rr-match-prediction

Batting Line-up

In their last match against KKR, all their important batsmen scored runs, something that is sure to encourage the MI faithful. Their skipper Rohit Sharma has finally found some form, though we still think he is at his best when he comes to open the inning. Ishan Kishan showed what he is capable of and the Pandya brothers are finally adding the much-needed muscle at the end of the innings. Surya Kumar Yadav has been scoring runs at the top of the order consistently and the ex-knight still remains their most integral batsmen. Duminy has been largely underused considering the strength and depth of the MI batting line up and could make way for someone else.

Bowling Line-up

Their bowling has increased steadily. Mayank Markande is a strong contender for the emerging player of the season award with 11 wickets in his debut season. The Pandya brothers too are back to doing what they do best with the ball and Ben Cutting has added the much-needed cutting edge to their bowling unit. Bowling spearheads Bumrah and McClenaghan look in fine form as well.

Key Players

Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya are always at the thick of everything MI do on the pitch and definitely are players to watch out for. Markande too can be key for MI as the RR batters haven’t really been comfortable with spin all season.

Predicted XI

Suryakumar Yadav, Evan Lewis, JP Duminy, Rohit Sharma( C ), Ishan Kishan( WK ), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Ben Cutting, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Markhande.

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals like Mumbai Indians are on a streak of 2 wins. They have the much-needed momentum in their ranks. Although RR had difficulty choosing their playing 11 at first, they have finally settled on their combination. If they are to qualify from here, they need to be positive every time they take the field. The Wankhede crowd can be intimidating but RR have to back their strengths and Ajinkya Rahane needs to take more responsibility. Rahane has done a decent job with the team but his batting form has taken a major dip with all these responsibilities. He needs to sort that out quickly if they are to make the top 4 as he forms an integral part of the part.

rr-vs-mi-match-prediction

Batting Line-up

RR haven’t yet found their opening pair. Having chopped and changed their opening pair all season, they have lacked stability at the top of the order. Buttler’s promotion to the top of the order has been a genius move as Buttler hasn’t failed for a single innings after that. Stokes’ miserable form with the bat continues though. Rahane’s lack of form though has to change quickly. Sanju Samson also needs to pick up his form as RR move towards the business end of the tournament.

Bowling Line-Up

Jofra Archer has been instrumental in Rajasthan Royal’s late push for the top 4 with 11 wickets from just 6 games. Gowtham has been one of the finds of the seasons with his unique abilities both with bat and ball. Ish Sodhi has added the element of surprise to this RR side with his uncanny leg-breaks. They, however, have felt the impact of a good Indian pacer as Dhawal Kulkarni and Jaydey Unadkat after having started strongly have faded away with the progress of the tournament. The RR bowling unit faces a herculean task against the in-form and formidable MI batting unit.

Key Players

Ish Sodhi and Jofra Archer have the potential to pick up wickets at important junctures and could be key players on Sunday. With the bat, RR would be again banking on the services of Buttler following his match-winning 95 in the last match.

Predicted Playing XI

Ajinkya Rahane( C ), Jos Buttler( WK ), Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Prashant Chopra, Stuart Binny, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Ankit Sharma, Jaydev Unadkat, Ish Sodhi
