Mumbai Indians

Mumbai have already sealed the qualifying berth and are now looking to grab the second spot. A win against old favourites KKR will certainly do the job. MI is in a good form as of late, especially after defeating table toppers Chennai at their home ground. Skipper Rohit Sharma returned to his old self in the past few matches. Hardik Pandya is the form of his life and MI will look to utilize him to knock KKR bowlers around the park. Yadav and Pollard will need to assist Pandya down the order.

The return of Lasith Malinga has immediately strengthened Mumbai’s bowling attack. Malinga took home four wickets against Chennai. With him and Bumrah, MI have the best death over duo in IPL. Hardik and Krunal do well in the slog overs with Sran providing extra option.

Hardik Pandya will be the danger man for MI. Lewis and Pollard also have the ability to clear the ropes with ease. Malinga and Bumrah are undoubtedly the main threat to KKR.

Predicted XI

Rohit Sharma, Quintin de Kock, Evin Lewis, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Keiron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav, Barinder Sran, Rahul Chahar, Lasith Malinga, jasprit Bumrah.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR have to win this one at all costs. Kolkata started off well but have been unable to carry on the momentum in the last few matches. Now SRH are out, KKR will qualify with a win as they are on 12 points. The over dependence on Russell in the first few matches have cost KKR dearly. With any other batsman unable to find the mark, KKR are in a tight spot now. Bumping up Shubman Gill has been of help. Lynn and Nitish Rana also have struggled with the bat this season. Captain Dinesh Karthik has improved his form in the recent matches and will hope to continue on his form today. Russell is the main person KKR will look to win the match.

It’s not just the batting which has been poor for KKR. A constant leakage of runs has cost them badly. The absence of a specialist death over bowler has also been hurtful to the team. Despite that, Piyush Chawla remains KKR’s most influential bowler. Narine and young Prasidh Krishna will look to utilize the slow pitch to their advantage.

Karthik is the hope of a poor batting form. Russell is dangerous as always if he gets going. Chawla and Narine hopefully can get things done on a slow track.

Predicted XI

Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Robin Uthappa, Rinku Singh, Piyush Chawla, Lockie Ferguson, Prasidh Krishna.

The 2019 VIVO IPL is gearing up for its final lap. Match number 52 between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders is set in Mohali. With just two games left to go, a win for either team is very important. Both KXIP and KKR sit on 10 points and a win will take them closer to that qualifying spot. We bring to you the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course match predictions.

    Kings XI Punjab

Punjab squandered their chances in the last match to make it in the top four. Currently they are placed below KKR owing to poor net run rate. Kings XI is on a three match losing streak and all will be lost for Ashwin and his boys if they fail to win against KKR. KXIP boast of a destructive opening pair in the form of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. Rahul has been in tremendous form this season and has amassed 520 runs so far. With Warner gone, now is the chance for him to close the gap for the Orange cap. Gayle has been unimpressive so far but we all know what happens if the big man gets going. KXIP will be without Sam Curran, who has left for the World Cup camp. The likes of Mayank Agarwal, Nicholas Pooran and David Miller will have to be at their best against KKR.

The bowling will be spearheaded by Ravi Ashwin and Mohammad Shami. Both of them have had impressive seasons so far and have to stop KKR at all costs. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was very costly in the last match and will need to improve his game for this one.

KL Rahul and Chris Gayle are the front men for KXIP in batting. Ashwin and Shami will have to handle the bowling unit.

    Predicted XI

Chris Gayle, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mayank Agarwal, David Miller, Mohammad Shami, KL Rahul, Murugan Ashwin, Nicholas Pooran, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Arshdeep Singh, Simran Singh.

    Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata had a pretty tumultuous season. At one point they were vying for the top spot but after six straight losses find themselves on the brink of elimination. With 10 points from 12 matches, KKR are in desperate need of a win to stay afloat in the competition. Their batting is headed by Andre Russell, who was again at his destructive best in the last match against MI. Shubman Gill put forth an impressive performance and KKR will bank on him and Lynn to give them a flying start. Although, KKR has been overly dependent on the one man show of Russell. For them to move on further, KKR will need to collectively work as a team.

KKR have been let down by their bowling unit once too many in this season. Narine looks like a shadow of his former self and Piyush Chawla also proves ineffective at times. Russell is looking sharp with the ball too having picked up two in the last match. Gurney will need to be at his best for this match.

Andre Russell is the obvious danger man for KKR. The West Indian alone has dragged the team so far with his batting and bowling.

     Predicted XI

Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthhappa, Piyush Chawla, Sunil Narine, Harry Gurney, Andre Russell, Chris Lynn, Sandeep Warrier, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill.

    Prediction: Who’ll Win?

This game is a must win for both sides. KXIP will have to stop Russell early on if they do not want to lose the match. A team performance from Kings XI Punjab will see them secure the win.

    Kolkata Knight Riders

The Knights are on a poor run. With six back to back loses, KKR have to win this one at all costs. Kolkata started off well but have been unable to carry on the momentum in the last few matches. Lynn and Nitish Rana also have struggled with the bat this season. Captain Dinesh Karthik, who struck a dazzling knock of 97 in their previous match, will hope to continue on his form today. Russell, who had been brilliant in the opening matches, has gone cold. Another West Indian Carlos Brathwaite will also look to hit big ones.

    Mumbai Indians

Mumbai are just one win away from joining Chennai in the play offs. With 14 points, MI is looking to seal the deal by defeating Kolkata at their home ground. MI is in a good form as of late, especially after defeating table toppers Chennai at their home ground. Skipper Rohit Sharma returned to his old self with a knock of 67 against CSK. Quintin de Kock and Evin Lewis will also have to be at their best and score runs today. The Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal along with the dangerous Pollard have to score if the top order fails.

The returning Lasith Malinga has immediately strengthened Mumbai’s bowling attack. Malinga took home four wickets against Chennai. With him and Bumrah, MI have the best death over duo in IPL. Hardik and Krunal do well in the slog overs with Ankul Roy providing extra option.

    The big hitters!

Its match number 43 of the VIVO IPL 2019. Eden Gardens will play host to the Knights taking on the Rajasthan Royals. Both teams are struggling mid way into the 2019 IPL with Rajasthan currently at the bottom of the table. Kolkata are not in a good shape either with five consecutive losses hurting their qualifier chances badly. Any more slip ups will be fatal for both the sides especially at this stage of the tournament. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

    Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR started off IPL 2019 looking to recapture the trophy, but halfway through the tournament, the Knights have taken a beating and are currently at the sixth position. What’s worse is that they have lost five matches in a row. The entire team looks pretty inconsistent with failures all around. The opening pair of Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine have been very inconsistent this tournament. Andre Russell provided the big hitting fire power in the first three or four matches but the West Indian seems to have subdued in the last few innings. In their last match against SRH, the middle order crumbled providing no support, with new comer Rinku Singh’s careful innings helping them go past 150. Against an equally struggling RR, Karthik, Gill and Lynn will need to be at their best.

The bowling unit has also been pretty much ineffective for Kolkata. The spinners Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine have been below par. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav was entirely dropped in the last match in favour of KC Cariappa. KKR will have a lot on their hands when facing the likes of Steve Smith, Ajinkiya Rahane and Ben Stokes. Prasidh Krishna is expected to make it into the playing XI for this match. On the slow Eden pitch, KKR sure do have the upper hand when it comes to the bowling attack.

Andre Russell is still a major threat to any team. Narine and Chris Lynn will prove to be useful in the opening innings. Chawla, Krishna and Gurney will have to lead the bowling.

    Predicted XI

Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Harry Gurney, Prasidh Krishna.

    Rajasthan Royals

RR will be looking for a win badly. Royals are at the bottom of the table and will need to cash in on every opportunity for a win. Much like their counterparts, the middle order of RR has failed barring skipper Steve Smith. Rahane seems to have recovered his form after a brilliant hundred in the last match. But apart from these two, none of the other batsmen seems to fire for Rajasthan. Players like Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Ashton turner will have to step up their game if RR hopes to win this match. Stokes has been poor in this tournament and RR desperately need him to come back to form.

Rajasthan have much bigger headaches in the bowling area. Experienced bowlers like Dhawal Kulkarni and Unadkat will need to perform better. Jofra Archer sure does pack a punch but a dip in form is quite worrisome for the Royals. Shreyas Gopal has been the best bowler of RR so far and his troublesome off spin is sure to cause KKR problems.

Steve Smith and Ajinkiya Rahane are the main dual threat to KKR bowling. Shreyas Gopal and Dhawal Kulkarni will be vital to disrupt the KKR batting line up.

    Predicted XI

Steve Smith, Ajinkiya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Liam Livingstone, Stuart Binny, Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni.

    Prediction: Who’ll Win?

This will be an intense battle between the two teams. It will come down to who bowls better. Expect KKR to edge this one out on a thriller!

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals 12th April 2019 Match Prediction: Who’ll Win Today’s Match?

    Russel vs Delhi!

Kolkata Knight Riders take on in form Delhi Capitals at the Mecca of Indian Cricket, the Eden Gardens. IPL 2019 has been a rollercoaster so far with only CSK looking invincible and the decision of batting second is looking to be the best bet. Let us get underway with the 26th match of IPL 2019, and see what both teams have in their kitties. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

    Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR has been on the receiving end following a dismal performance against CSK. Both the batting and bowling were under fire in the last match. A below par performance from the top and middle order put pressure on Russell to do all the work. The story is pretty simple; get Narine in the power play and utilise the fielding restrictions. Uthappa hasn’t yet made the scorers busy while Lynn looks peripheral against the spinners. Nitish Rana looks like a player DK can bank on, and will be key to their remaining matches. The decision to send Russell ahead of Shubman Gill only piled pressure on the youngster.

It is the spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Piyush Chawla, and KKR talisman Narine who will look to rattle the DC batting line up. On an Eden pitch, it is the spinners who will be the key to winning the match.

KKR will need to sort out their batting line-up and should stick to the policy of Narine opening the game with Lynn. Lynn’s problem against the spin will be exploited by DC, but he is a match winner beyond a shadow of doubt. This IPL hasn’t seen the best out of Uthappa or Karthik, and those two will be raring to go. In the spin department, always keep your eye out for Sunil Narine.

    Starting XI

Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Shubhman Gill, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Harry Gurney, Prasidh Krishna.

    Delhi Capitals

DC will be backing themselves after a stellar performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore and will have to keep on the momentum. Delhi will again be banking on the trio of Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw to score runs off the bat. Rishabh Pant has been playing well and will need to provide a captain’s innings in this match. Morris has been underperforming with the bat and will need to pick up the pace.

DC will be immensely satisfied with their bowling especially with Kingsio Rabada. DC can look for another spinning option with Axar Patel and Lamichhane looking to threaten the batsmen. Ishant Sharma will look for a positive comeback and Morris will hope to continue backing with his pace.

Key players will be Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw in the batting department. Rabada is looking better with each game.

    Starting XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Kagsio Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Sandeep Lamichhane.

    Prediction: Who’ll Win Today?

This is a do or die match for Delhi as they currently languish in the seventh position. KKR will look to overtake CSK for the top spot. With better bowling and the support of the home stadium, KKR looks to win this one.
