It’s the second qualifier of VIVO IPL 2019. While CSK lost their first playoff to MI, Delhi won their eliminator against SRH. Now, both of them will face off against each other at the ACA VDCA stadium. While DC won their maiden playoff, CSK suffered a bad collapse against Mumbai, setting up a tense second playoff. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai with three IPL wins are tied with MI for the most trophies. But the giants of Chennai were humbled in the first qualifier against MI. Chennai boast of a superb batting line up but so far the batsmen have failed to click as a unit. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis have failed to provide meaningful starts barring a few individual knocks. Suresh Raina has shown some glimpses of big shots but has failed to pile on runs. The brilliance of MS Dhoni has kept CSK going. Despite his age, Dhoni has the best CSK batsman this season. Now, Chennai have the experience of playing in the qualifiers and they have to make that count. Raina, Rayudu and Jadhav will need to contribute in the middle. Every player has to step up and avoid a repetition of the first qualifier.

When defending a low scoring total, it’s the job of the bowling department to switch to a higher gear. CSK failed to do that against MI. Chennai do have an experienced bowling unit of Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Dwayne Bravo. Tahir, in particular has been impressive and is the highest wicket taker for Chennai. Deepak Chahar and Bravo will need to shut down the DC batsmen. This is the last chance for CSK to qualify.

Dhoni and Rayudu will be key in batting. Harbhajan and Tahir will be vital with the ball.

Predicted XI

Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, Murli Vijay.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi is on an extraordinary run. They have been the dark horses of the tournament. After securing their second playoff berth, they beat out SRH in the eliminator to continue on their hopes of getting their maiden trophy. Delhi will have to address a major issue before taking on the more experienced CSK. While DC has performed well as a team, their batting collapses in pressure situations have been noteworthy. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan provided good starts for the Capitals this season. Their stand out duo has been Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. The young batsmen have been in terrific form this season. But Delhi will have to habituate themselves to pressure conditions. CSK are more experienced and know how to break down the opponent. Delhi will have to be careful.

Delhi bowlers have a tough job on their hands against a destructive CSK line up. Ishant Sharma and Trent Boult have to be at their best in this match. Keemo Paul bowled brilliantly against SRH and will look to replicate his theatrics. Amit Mishra forms a strong partnership with Axar Patel in the middle overs.

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are the key batsmen. Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra are vital bowlers.

Predicted XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

This is going to be a very exciting battle. The experience of Chennai and the youth of Delhi will be giving it their all for a place in the finals. We expect Delhi Capitals to face MI in the finals!

Two well balanced teams lock horns for a spot in the qualifier two of the VIVO IPL 2019. The ACA-VDCA stadium in Andhra Pradesh holds this season’s eliminator. Delhi and Hyderabad who finished third and fourth respectively have only one shot at the trophy, with the loser getting eliminated. The winner will go on to face either Mumbai Indians or Chennai Super Kings from their qualifier match. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi has been one of the top sides of IPL 2019. Despite finishing the group stage with 18 points, Delhi were placed third because of a lower NRR than MI and CSK. Delhi started off the season poorly and it looked like it was the same Delhi Daredevils who had faltered in the previous seasons. But the change DC underwent has been remarkable to turn into a serious contender for the title. Under the capable leadership of young Shreyas Iyer, Delhi has become a force to be recognized. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan put up fine opening partnerships to set the innings for Rishabh Pant and Iyer. The likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Colin Ingram provide stability to the middle order.

Delhi will surely miss the services of Kagsio Rabada. The South African was the best bolwer for DC and the whole tournament. The responsibility now falls on the veteran pacers Trent Boult and Ishant Sharma. This duo will have to shut down SRH with the help of Amit Mishra. The spinner along with Axar Patel also has to be at their best in the match.

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will be vital for scoring runs. Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra will be the same for bowling.

Predicted XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH endured a nervy group stage. They had to wait until the final day to see whether they would qualify or not. With 12 points in the bag and just a slight better NRR than KKR, bagged Sunrisers the fourth place in the table. SRH became the first team in IPL history to qualify even after securing 12 points. SRH started the season well but lost track midway, especially due to the over dependence of Warner and Bairstow. With the duo now gone, SRH look on Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill and Manish Pandey to do the needful. Even though replicating the destructive batting of Warner and Bairstow will be next to impossible, SRH will need to do their best to win this match.

SRH have a potent bowling attack led by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Kumar along with Khaleel Ahmed have formed a very good partnership. The pace duo has been responsible for many collapses in the opposition teams. SRH still have their ace Rashid Khan. Although the spinner has seen a dip in form, he is not to be trifled with. Delhi is sure to be weary of the SRH bowlers.

Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey are the key performers in batting. Bhuvi, Khaleel and Rashid will overlook the bowling attack.

Predicted XI

Kane Willaimson, Martin Guptill, Manish Pandey, Wridhhiman Saha, Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Yusuf Pathan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

This will surely be an explosive match. Delhi and Hyderabad, both are well balanced teams. Delhi will just beat out SRH in a close encounter.

Rajasthan suffered a huge blow in the last match against RCB where rain played a spoil sport. Now the chances of RR going to the playoffs are extremely slim. First off they have to win against DC and then hope the remaining two matches go in their favour. It’s a lot to ask for. Now with Steven Smith gone, Rahane is back in the captain’s post. RR has weakened considerably after Archer, Buttler and Ben Stokes left for their camps. This piles all the more pressure on Rahane and co. to give it their all in today’s match. Rahane, Samson and Livingstone need to perform their best if Royals have any hope of qualifying.

Given the two teams have already qualified for the playoffs; both are vying for the top stop in the table. Nevertheless, DC is now the table leaders and will look to maintain that position today at the MA Chidambaram stadium. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK are dominant as usual, as they have been for the past IPL seasons. With 16 points from 12 matches, Chennai has already qualified. But they are currently in the second spot with Delhi leading the way. A win will put them in the top spot with nothing much to play for. This also might be an ideal chance to rest some key players for the qualifiers. No other team has been more consistent than CSK, with Dhoni and co qualifying for the past four editions. Captain cool himself looks doubtful for this match. Dhoni also missed out the last one against MI. Raina will again put on the captain’s armband to lead the team. CSK have a quality batting line up with the likes of Vijay, Shane Watson, Rayudu and Raina. Dhruv Shorey will have to do his best to fill in for Dhoni.

CSK have an equally good bowling attack led by veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh. The presence of Imran Tahir and Mitchell Santner also bolsters the bowling unit. Chahar and Dwayne Bravo provide them options in the middle overs.

Shane Watson and Suresh Raina will be vital for CSK in scoring runs. Harbhajan and Tahir will be crucial for picking up wickets.

Predicted XI

Murli Vijay, Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Dhruv Shorey, Dwayne Bravo, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir.

Delhi Capitals

What a season Delhi has had! Starting off the season in the worst possible manner, Delhi Capitals have turned it around with hard work and determination. DC has already qualified for the playoffs, and is in the top spot in the table. A win today at Chepauk will put them in firm position for lifting the 2019 IPL trophy. A superb combination of youth and experience and guidance from the likes of Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly has really turned DC into a fearsome team. With batsmen like Prithvi Shaw, Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, Delhi has no problem clearing the boundaries with ease. The likes of Colin Ingram and Shane Rutherford down the order provide heavy hitting in the death overs.

Kagsio Rabada has been absolutely phenomenal for Delhi. The current holder of the purple cap, Rabada has been tearing down opposition batsmen left and right. With the experienced Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma, DC posses a quality bowling attack.

Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan will be crucial for this match. Rabada and Mishra will be vital to the bowling.

Predicted XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Colin Ingram, Shane Rutherford, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Kagsio Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Sandeep Lamichhane.

DC vs RCB 28th April 2019 Match Prediction: Who’ll Win Today?

Hello and welcome to the coverage of the 46th match of Vivo IPL 2019 where Delhi Capitals take on Royal Challengers Bangalore. DC takes on RCB in a thrilling encounter at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium. While Delhi have recovered their fortunes and have gone to the top three in the table, RCB are still at the bottom of the table. Join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi has been in fine form as of late. The team have turned around from the beginning of the season and have done so wonderfully. With three youngsters Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant at the core of the team, DC is currently in the 3rd place in the table. This is where the need of cool and composed heads is needed, and at the moment DC certainly lacks such personalities on the field. The openers Shaw and Dhawan were brilliant in the last match against Rajasthan. Pant took home the win with a dazzling unbeaten knock.

Morris took some serious hit in the last couple of matches, and uncharacteristically Rabada too was not at his best against RR. They need him at the helm of his bowling to savour some pride.  Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra will need to step up as well. Axar Patel might prove to be the surprise DC needs in their bowling.

Iyer, Prithvi, and Pant are the brightest hopes this DC team can pin their hopes on. They would be my key players, and in the bowling section it will be Rabada and Axar Patel.

Starting XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Colin Ingram, Sherfane Rutherford, Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Kagsio Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB are on a trot with three wins from three matches. But the Bangalore team are still unable to rack up points which mean they are still at the bottom of the table. Well, the good news is both Kohli and de Villiers look to be in a fine form. Parthiv Patel showed why he should be given the chance to play as an opener. They won a thriller against CSK winning by just one run. RCB can and will a serious threat to DC, who is on their route to secure a playoff berth.

Umesh Yadav is also in a hot form at the moment, scalping three in the last match against KXIP. Navdeep Saini and Yuzvendra Chahal is the key to disrupt the middle order of the opposition. Southee was smashed all around the park though. Marcus Stoinis was impressive, so Kohli does have a few options in his attack.

Their key players remain to be Kohli and ABD with the bat, and Yadav and Chahal with the ball.

Predicted XI

Virat Kohli, Parthiv Patel, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, Washington Sundar,  Tim Southee, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, Akshdeep Nath.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

On a slow track you would back RCB as they have got their bowling plans right, and DC would pray to their stars to keep a tab on the wickets. RCB are on a roll and would keep their momentum with another win today.
