SRH Vs CSK Prediction 22 April: Match Preview, Playing XI, Analysis and Prediction. Who Will Win today’s match?

Sunrisers Hyderabad takes on Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad for Match 21 of IPL 2018. Both teams have had a solid start to their campaign and both have registered just a solitary loss, both at Mohali against KXIP, interestingly. The match promises to be a good one with quality players on both sides and let us see what we can expect from this encounter. Read on to check match preview, playing XI, team news, match analysis and match prediction.

SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

Sunrisers Hyderabad had an unbeaten start to their season but they lost to a Chris Gayle-dominated KXIP in their last game. Their bowling line-up which has been the best in the tournament by miles screwed up as they conceded 11 sixes against the destructive Gayle. One of their best bowlers so far, Billy Stanlake, the 6’8 Australian pacer who has picked up 5 wickets in IPL 11 was left out without an announcement of an injury. Chris Jordan took his place and proved expensive. Stanlake is certain to return to their line-up. The rest of their bowlers almost pick themselves, especially Bhuvaneshwar Kumar who had an economy of around 6 even when his team conceded 190 odd runs. His 4 overs would be key again against this destructive Chennai side. SRH depend a lot on their bowling and it doesn’t let them down too often.

Sunrisers were dealt a massive blow at the start of their chase in the last match. Shikhar Dhawan, their leading run-getter so far, who has been in sparkling form was retired hurt with a knock on his elbow. It is unclear as to whether Dhawan will play against CSK but it is our prediction that he has had ample time to recover and that he will not miss such an important tie. Their middle order looked encouraging at the start of the season but it does definitely lack big-hitters. Carlos Braithwaite could get his Sunrisers debut to add some much-needed firepower down the batting order. Kane Williamson has had impressive charts but he hasn’t quite capitalized as he should and would look to get a really big score before it is too late. Manish Pandey, signed for 11 crore INR at the auction hasn’t got going yet and would be eager to spend more time in the middle. Yusuf Pathan, too, looks less dependable by the day. Sunrisers would be looking to bounce back with a win and CSK surely aren’t the weakest opponents. According to our prediction, the match-winners would be Rashid Khan, who took a beating last night and Manish Pandey, who would finally get a huge score.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing XI

Shikhar Dhawan, Wriddhiman Saha( wk ), Kane Williamson( c ), Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Carlos Brathwaite, Yusuf Pathan, Rashid Khan, Siddharth Kaul, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Billy Stanlake

CSK (Chennai Super Kings)

The Chennai Super Kings soared to the top of the table following their massive 64-run win against the Rajasthan Royals. It was a clinical display by CSK, something that we’ve become accustomed to as they showcased explosive batting at the top, superb bowling, with all their front-line bowlers picking up wickets and some exquisite fielding. CSK were boosted by the return of their talisman, Suresh Raina as he scored a quick 46. Shane Watson though was the hero of the match with the second ton of IPL 2018. CSK, thus look solid going into the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Karn Sharma played his first match in this edition of the IPL and looked good as he picked up two wickets in 9 deliveries.

Dwayne Bravo continued his good from both with bat and ball and CSK is banking a lot on the massive experience of their major players in IPL. MS Dhoni was very smart with his bowling changes and at this stage, CSK looks the team to beat. Imran Tahir has picked up wickets at crucial junctures and would be hoping to do more of the same in the later stages. They come to Hyderabad looking to continue their form but would also be aware of the quality in SRH’s line-up. It will be a fascinating encounter, especially between SRH’s bowling and CSK’s batting. CSK have had explosive starts in almost all their matches and would once again look to have a flying start, something the brilliant SRH opening bowlers would look to prevent. The first 6 overs of the CSK innings could go a long way in determining who comes out on top on Sunday. The key players could be Watson and Dwayne Bravo, with their all-round skills, considering the rich vein of form they find themselves in. Our prediction is that CSK will field an unchanged side as they wouldn’t want to tweak their winning formula.

SRH Vs CSK Match Prediction: Who Will Win this match?

With their glittering form and their superior head-to-head record, CSK starts as favorites though they are away. In their previous 7 encounters, Chennai Super Kings has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad 5 times. Both teams have in-form players who can have a major impact on the game. CSK won batting first last time around and would feel more confident now, regardless the result of the toss. Our prediction says that CSK will outwit this SRH team once again.
