CSK Vs MI Prediction, Playing 11 and Analysis : IPL 2018. Who Will Win today?

Welcome to the 27th match of IPL 2018 where Chennai Super Kings take on Mumbai Indians at Maharashtra Cricket Association, Pune. It is a tale of two teams with one firing all cylinders, and the other falling apart. Let us get underway with team news, playing 11, match preview, analysis, and prediction.

(CSK) Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings is back, and so is our vintage MS Dhoni. A knock of special caliber from a special person deserves all the applause. Same goes for Ambati Rayudu who looks rejuvenated in the opening role as he came back to haunt his former team, MI with a brilliant knock. CSK are ready for another triumph despite being one of the oldest teams in terms of average age in IPL 2018. The experience of CSK is reaping benefits, and MSD will be thrilled after a stellar batting performance. CSK does have a few issues with the bowling attack, as they are leaking runs, and the likes of Jadeja and Harbhajan have been toothless so far. Imran Tahir is a man beyond normal control, and despite shelling out runs he remains to be a major threat.

Dwayne Bravo is a vital cog in the CSK engine, and he remains prolific both with the bat and ball. His IPL records are tremendous and another foreigner Shane Watson has rejuvenated himself in IPL 2018. CSK may try and change the bowling attack a little, but with results going in their favor and Mumbai Indians failing to score runs the same XI might be on the field again.

CSK is a team filled with superstars, and to select one or two key players would be an injustice. Rayudu will be the key to Billings ready to unleash his true self. MS Dhoni the man of big moments will be another key player alongside Dwayne Bravo. Tahir would lead the spin trio, and Shardul Thakur despite being expensive may do the trick with his knack for wickets.

CSK Playing 11

Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Sam Billings, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh/Karn Sharma, Imran Tahir, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.

MI (Mumbai Indians)

Easily one of the worst performers of IPL 2018 alongside DD. Mumbai Indians is known to be guilty of slow starts, but they haven’t looked this lackadaisical ever. Rohit Sharma’s captaincy will be under scrutiny with his decision to leave out JP Duminy and sticking with Kieron Pollard. Pollard is a match winner and there remains no doubt, but he has been jittery in the first half of IPL 2018, and it is about time MI go for Duminy’s reliability and power hitting at the end. Rohit’s batting has been below par with only a score of 92 worth of shows, and he may run a risk of losing his place to KL Rahul in the Indian team.

Evin Lewis is blowing hot and cold, while Suryakumar Yadav is making a name for himself as an opener. Ishan Kishan has shown his ability, but I would still like to see Rohit at number 3, and now below that. The Pandya brothers have been good in IPL 2018, but they aren’t the match winners. A sole change might do the trick, and that would be bringing Duminy in place of Pollard.

The key remains to be Suryakumar Yadav for MI, and Mitch McClenaghan, Bumrah, and Musafizur with the ball. Mayank Markande is a treat for the sore eyes, and he will be looking to reap some rewards from a slow Pune pitch. MI will have crowd support with CSK playing the rest of IPL in Pune.

    MI Playing 11

Evin Lewis, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, JP Duminy/Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman

    CSK Vs MI Match Prediction

CSK will be the favorite with a shadow of a doubt, and despite the match being played in Pune, I don’t see a way out for MI with CSK’s tigers roaring to unleash. IPL 2018 has been full of surprises, and the MI bowlers will be the key if they have any chance of winning this.
