Part of the journey is the end. The two titans of IPL meet at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium to settle the rein of supremacy. Both Chennai and Mumbai have won the trophy thrice and are on a bid to outdo each other for the fourth time. MI has beaten CSK quite convincingly in this season while Chennai will be seeking revenge. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are no stranger to the finals of IPL, having won the tournament three times. The team boasts of a splendid batting line up complemented by a strong bowling unit. Moreover, Mi has had the upper hand on CSK a number of times. They even defeated the men in yellow in the playoffs to book a berth in the finals of 2019. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, MI boast quite a depth in batting. Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya all have the ability to easily clear the ropes. Especially, Pandya whose batting heroics have been the talk of the season. Young Ishan Kishan and big man Kieron Pollard also need to be at the top of their game in the final match.

Mumbai Indians possess an equally good bowling unit. The duo of Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah are lethal in the death overs. Hardik Pandya comes in quite handy with the ball too. Rahul Chahar despite being the lone good spinner has impressed over the matches.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav will be key in batting. Bumrah and Chahar will look to rattle CSK batting.

Predicted XI

Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Keiron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai are undoubtedly the most successful IPL team in history, having appeared in seven finals. But they have just won the finals three times out of those seven. In spite of that CSK are arguably the most successful IPL team on par with MI. This season though, CSK have struggled with their batting quite a lot. They endured batting collapses in many matches with Dhoni rescuing them on a regular basis. Against DC, we got to see the CSK of the old, as they beat out the young side quite convincingly. Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson will look to continue on their good form from the last match. In the middle order, Raina, Rayudu and MS Dhoni will do their best to pile on after the openers.

Much like Mumbai, CSK have a potent bowling force to deal with. But the lack of fast bowlers might hurt CSK here. Imran Tahir and Harbhajan Singh have been instrumental behind CSK’s success this season. Bravo and Shardul Thakur will have to do their best to match up to the Mumbai attack.

Faf du Plessis and Dhoni will be key to the batting. Thakur and Tahir will be for bowling.

Predicted XI

Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahr, Shardul Thakur, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

It’s the final battle. Both teams will have to play their best games. Expect a thriller final with Mumbai crowning themselves the champion a fourth time.

It’s the second qualifier of VIVO IPL 2019. While CSK lost their first playoff to MI, Delhi won their eliminator against SRH. Now, both of them will face off against each other at the ACA VDCA stadium. While DC won their maiden playoff, CSK suffered a bad collapse against Mumbai, setting up a tense second playoff. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai with three IPL wins are tied with MI for the most trophies. But the giants of Chennai were humbled in the first qualifier against MI. Chennai boast of a superb batting line up but so far the batsmen have failed to click as a unit. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis have failed to provide meaningful starts barring a few individual knocks. Suresh Raina has shown some glimpses of big shots but has failed to pile on runs. The brilliance of MS Dhoni has kept CSK going. Despite his age, Dhoni has the best CSK batsman this season. Now, Chennai have the experience of playing in the qualifiers and they have to make that count. Raina, Rayudu and Jadhav will need to contribute in the middle. Every player has to step up and avoid a repetition of the first qualifier.

When defending a low scoring total, it’s the job of the bowling department to switch to a higher gear. CSK failed to do that against MI. Chennai do have an experienced bowling unit of Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Dwayne Bravo. Tahir, in particular has been impressive and is the highest wicket taker for Chennai. Deepak Chahar and Bravo will need to shut down the DC batsmen. This is the last chance for CSK to qualify.

Dhoni and Rayudu will be key in batting. Harbhajan and Tahir will be vital with the ball.

Predicted XI

Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, Murli Vijay.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi is on an extraordinary run. They have been the dark horses of the tournament. After securing their second playoff berth, they beat out SRH in the eliminator to continue on their hopes of getting their maiden trophy. Delhi will have to address a major issue before taking on the more experienced CSK. While DC has performed well as a team, their batting collapses in pressure situations have been noteworthy. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan provided good starts for the Capitals this season. Their stand out duo has been Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. The young batsmen have been in terrific form this season. But Delhi will have to habituate themselves to pressure conditions. CSK are more experienced and know how to break down the opponent. Delhi will have to be careful.

Delhi bowlers have a tough job on their hands against a destructive CSK line up. Ishant Sharma and Trent Boult have to be at their best in this match. Keemo Paul bowled brilliantly against SRH and will look to replicate his theatrics. Amit Mishra forms a strong partnership with Axar Patel in the middle overs.

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are the key batsmen. Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra are vital bowlers.

Predicted XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

This is going to be a very exciting battle. The experience of Chennai and the youth of Delhi will be giving it their all for a place in the finals. We expect Delhi Capitals to face MI in the finals!

Two well balanced teams lock horns for a spot in the qualifier two of the VIVO IPL 2019. The ACA-VDCA stadium in Andhra Pradesh holds this season’s eliminator. Delhi and Hyderabad who finished third and fourth respectively have only one shot at the trophy, with the loser getting eliminated. The winner will go on to face either Mumbai Indians or Chennai Super Kings from their qualifier match. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi has been one of the top sides of IPL 2019. Despite finishing the group stage with 18 points, Delhi were placed third because of a lower NRR than MI and CSK. Delhi started off the season poorly and it looked like it was the same Delhi Daredevils who had faltered in the previous seasons. But the change DC underwent has been remarkable to turn into a serious contender for the title. Under the capable leadership of young Shreyas Iyer, Delhi has become a force to be recognized. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan put up fine opening partnerships to set the innings for Rishabh Pant and Iyer. The likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Colin Ingram provide stability to the middle order.

Delhi will surely miss the services of Kagsio Rabada. The South African was the best bolwer for DC and the whole tournament. The responsibility now falls on the veteran pacers Trent Boult and Ishant Sharma. This duo will have to shut down SRH with the help of Amit Mishra. The spinner along with Axar Patel also has to be at their best in the match.

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will be vital for scoring runs. Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra will be the same for bowling.

Predicted XI

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, Trent Boult, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH endured a nervy group stage. They had to wait until the final day to see whether they would qualify or not. With 12 points in the bag and just a slight better NRR than KKR, bagged Sunrisers the fourth place in the table. SRH became the first team in IPL history to qualify even after securing 12 points. SRH started the season well but lost track midway, especially due to the over dependence of Warner and Bairstow. With the duo now gone, SRH look on Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill and Manish Pandey to do the needful. Even though replicating the destructive batting of Warner and Bairstow will be next to impossible, SRH will need to do their best to win this match.

SRH have a potent bowling attack led by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Kumar along with Khaleel Ahmed have formed a very good partnership. The pace duo has been responsible for many collapses in the opposition teams. SRH still have their ace Rashid Khan. Although the spinner has seen a dip in form, he is not to be trifled with. Delhi is sure to be weary of the SRH bowlers.

Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey are the key performers in batting. Bhuvi, Khaleel and Rashid will overlook the bowling attack.

Predicted XI

Kane Willaimson, Martin Guptill, Manish Pandey, Wridhhiman Saha, Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Yusuf Pathan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

This will surely be an explosive match. Delhi and Hyderabad, both are well balanced teams. Delhi will just beat out SRH in a close encounter.

Finally it’s time for the qualifiers of the Indian Premier League 2019 edition. For our first playoff, we will see the Mumbai Indians take on Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram stadium. The three time champions will aim to directly book a final passage after finishing in the top two. Chennai on the other hand are the firm favourites for this year’s IPL.  . So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai are in a joyous mood. Not only they qualified for the playoffs but they managed the top spot, hence securing two shots at the finals. MI however will look to book a place in the finals tomorrow only. MI has played well, especially their batting. Rohit Sharma and Quintin de Kock provide good opening partnerships. The form of Sharma was in question early on the IPL, but the hitman has bounced back for MI. The middle order with the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya provided good backup for runs. Pandya in particular has been the most impressive of the lot, with his fiery batting prowess.

In the bowling ranks Mumbai have Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah. This duo is the best death over bowlers of IPL. Malinga and Bumrah have picked up wickets as well as have been stringent with the run flow. Pandya has proved quite nifty with the ball too. The all rounder’s bowling during the slog overs will be pivotal for Mumbai. The likes of Mitchell McClenaghan and Rahul Chahar will also need to be at their best in this match.

Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya are the main threats for the batting line up. Malinga and Bumrah will pivotal in the bowling. Pandya will be the key player for Mumbai in this match.

Predicted XI

Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Rahul Chahar, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai have reached the IPL playoffs a record nine times. Unquestionably the most consistent IPL team, CSK are looking to win the title a fourth time. Chennai are on a poor run though, having won just two of the past six matches. Dhoni has rescued the team more than once. The batting line up, though boasting big names still lack that spark. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis will again open the innings for CSK. Raina, Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav will need to be at their best. Captain cool MS Dhoni, has been the best of the CSK lot in terms of scoring.

The bowling of CSK has been a tad better than their batting. Veteran spinners Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir have been exceptionally good for CSK. What CSK lack though is the pace. Chahar and Bravo will be looking to be at their best against a deathly bowling unit of MI.

MS Dhoni and Faf du Plessis will be key players in the batting. Harbhajan and Tahir will be key players in the bowling.

Predicted XI

Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir.

Prediction: Who’ll Win?

Two heavy weights lock horns in a tense encounter. Mumbai will be looking to book their place and CSK will bring on their full might. Expect, Mumbai to edge it out in an end to end match.

It’s the last match of the group stages of IPL 2019. Mumbai take on Kolkata at the Wankhede. Mumbai have already qualified with 8 wins, while KKR will do so with a win. Kolkata sit on 12 points and a win will take them to the qualifiers, now that SRH have lost. So, join us for the latest team news, starting XIs, key players, and of course our prediction.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai have already sealed the qualifying berth and are now looking to grab the second spot. A win against old favourites KKR will certainly do the job. MI is in a good form as of late, especially after defeating table toppers Chennai at their home ground. Skipper Rohit Sharma returned to his old self in the past few matches. Hardik Pandya is the form of his life and MI will look to utilize him to knock KKR bowlers around the park. Yadav and Pollard will need to assist Pandya down the order.

The return of Lasith Malinga has immediately strengthened Mumbai’s bowling attack. Malinga took home four wickets against Chennai. With him and Bumrah, MI have the best death over duo in IPL. Hardik and Krunal do well in the slog overs with Sran providing extra option.

Hardik Pandya will be the danger man for MI. Lewis and Pollard also have the ability to clear the ropes with ease. Malinga and Bumrah are undoubtedly the main threat to KKR.

Predicted XI

Rohit Sharma, Quintin de Kock, Evin Lewis, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Keiron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav, Barinder Sran, Rahul Chahar, Lasith Malinga, jasprit Bumrah.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR have to win this one at all costs. Kolkata started off well but have been unable to carry on the momentum in the last few matches. Now SRH are out, KKR will qualify with a win as they are on 12 points. The over dependence on Russell in the first few matches have cost KKR dearly. With any other batsman unable to find the mark, KKR are in a tight spot now. Bumping up Shubman Gill has been of help. Lynn and Nitish Rana also have struggled with the bat this season. Captain Dinesh Karthik has improved his form in the recent matches and will hope to continue on his form today. Russell is the main person KKR will look to win the match.

It’s not just the batting which has been poor for KKR. A constant leakage of runs has cost them badly. The absence of a specialist death over bowler has also been hurtful to the team. Despite that, Piyush Chawla remains KKR’s most influential bowler. Narine and young Prasidh Krishna will look to utilize the slow pitch to their advantage.

Karthik is the hope of a poor batting form. Russell is dangerous as always if he gets going. Chawla and Narine hopefully can get things done on a slow track.

Predicted XI

Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Robin Uthappa, Rinku Singh, Piyush Chawla, Lockie Ferguson, Prasidh Krishna.

Prediction: Who’ll Win Today?

It’s the bowling which will decide the winner of today’s match. Mumbai sure have the edge when it comes to pace but the better spinners will take the match in KKR’s favour.
