RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Royal Challengers Bangalore are enjoying a mixed start to their tournament, winning 2 and losing 3 of their first 5 matches. They, however, are coming from a morale-boosting win against the Delhi Daredevils. They tried a few new things in their previous encounter, most of which had a positive impact on the match. We saw a blistering knock from AB de Villiers and when either ABD or Kohli fires, RCB would have to try hard to lose the match. The impressive thing about RCB against DD, though, was their bowling display. They finally are beginning to gel, something they need to sustain if they are to go far in IPL 2018. Chahal was fantastic and would look to continue his knack of picking up important wickets at the Chinnaswamy. RCB enjoy some fantastic home support., something they would be looking to capitalize on in their next match as well.

The inclusion of Corey Anderson has improved the balance of the team and the Kiwi has had a commendable showing in the two matches that he played. Manan Vohra got his chance the other night and he can be destructive coming at the top of the innings. It also allows Kohli to add some stability during the middle overs. RCB, however, have to be wary of the spectacular form of CSK. Chris Woakes hasn’t been in the best of forms and we could see him getting dropped for a more lethal bowler in Tim Southee. Southee is an ex-CSK player and he would know his ex-team thoroughly. This is a big match for RCB as beating CSK would give them more confidence which could be integral to their hopes this year. The key, however, remains their skipper Virat Kohli, who would be looking to demolish the CSK bowling unit, that has been very impressive. Chahal too will need to pick up early wickets. If RCB has to win the game, both Kohli and Chahal have to be at the top of their games.

RCB Playing XI against CSK

Manan Vohra, Quinton de Kock ( WK ), Virat Kohli( C ), AB de Villiers, Corey Anderson, Manandeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee

CSK (Chennai Super Kings)

csk-vs-rcb-match-prediction

Chennai Super Kings would be looking to spring to the top of the points table with a win away to RCB. It is almost as if CSK never stopped playing IPL and they have come back with a bang with 4 wins out of 5. They look very very strong at this current moment. They have quality players and have spectacular strength in depth as we saw Faf du Plessis come in for the in-form Sam Billings. CSK’s old guards have all been brilliant so far, Watson in particular. With all-around performances, they look destined for the IPL trophy. Things can’t be this simple in cricket though, something RCB would be looking to show on Wednesday. CSK have experimented with their opening pair as Faf du Plessis opened the batting with Watson. There is a sense of dynamism in the team which is so useful in T20 cricket. The domestic contingent has taken responsibility on their shoulder as well and players like Karn Sharma, Chahar and Thakur have been very impressive, so much so that experienced Harbhajan Singh finds himself sitting on the sidelines. We have seen consistent performances from players like Raina and Jadeja too.

CSK look like the team to beat. They have explosive firepower on the top, a solid middle order, and some brilliant finishers. Their bowling department looks very impressive too, with the equal proficiency of spin and pace. At the Chinnaswamy, however, leggies like Tahir and Sharma would be key and would look to pick up quick wickets. The wily bowling of Bravo could be the determining factor as well. All in all, it seems like a straight contest between the all-star batting of RCB and brainy bowling of CSK. According to our prediction, Raina and Tahir could be the determining factors if CSK were to win the game.

RCB Vs CSK Prediction: Who Will this match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings?

The Cauvery Derby is one of the most anticipated matches of the seasons. A clash between two Indian giants, Kohli and Dhoni is always likely to garner major buzz. The toss may or may not be a match-winning factor in this match as CSK are equally potent in chasing and defending this season. In fact, our prediction is that both teams would prefer batting first in this Chinnaswamy pitch and set up a gargantuan score for the opposition to chase. CSK are favorites to win this match. They have found their team balance and all their integral players are in fine form. Add to it CSK’s recent run of two wins and their superior head-to-head record against RCB ( 13 wins in 21 matches ) and you can figure out exactly why we feel CSK is going to edge this one.
